At Resulation, we want to create a better world by reducing and repurposing mineral wool waste. With the support of our parent company, Knauf Insulation: a global leader in insulation solutions, we are successfully collecting and recycling mineral wool into an infinitely reusable raw material. Together, we strive for positive impact.
As we continue our journey, Resulation dives deep into organisational processes, risk analysis, and taking a close look at our environmental impact. As a result, we managed to implement ISO certifications: strong systems which will allow us to tackle the challenges of the future.
Certifications that underline improvement
After countless weeks of effort and dedication, we attained two certifications: ISO 9001 and 14001. The former sets the foundation for any organisation and is the stepping stone for every other ISO certification; the latter helps organisations improve their environmental performance.
ISO 9001 is the world's most recognized Quality Management System. ISO 9001 is not just a set of standards, but a framework that revolutionises the way businesses operate. This certification rests on three pillars:
- We immerse ourselves in the internal processes and procedures.
- We track risks and look for opportunities.
- We put our clients first; by actively asking for feedback and addressing issues.
How did we achieve this certification? We primarily centralised documentation. This not only saves time but strengthens communication and transparency. We trained new employees and equipped them with safety procedures. Resulation defined the scope and reintegrated it into the Knauf Insulation Group's mission and strategy. For example, Knauf's future goal is to send zero waste to landfills by 2025. We translated this into a goal for Resulation: "We must be able to recycle all waste sent to our plant."
ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard setting out the requirements for an Environmental Management System. With this certification, we are actively taking steps towards a more sustainable future. To achieve this certification:
- We analysed the life-cycle of our products and made improvements.
- We identified our environmental risks.
- We mapped out disparate actions to prevent these risks and minimise our environmental impact.

Every step we take towards proper waste management creates a positive ripple effect, we also want to support our clients to sort waste properly. We have implemented eye-catching cardboard signs to nudge our clients and create awareness and encourage conscious decision-making when it comes to discarding waste. By daring to focus on the details, we can accomplish incredible feats.
